7 soldiers lost their lives while over 100 boko haram members were killed after the sect group made a futile attempt on 120 Task Force Battalion troops located at Goniri, Yobe State yesterday morning. A statement from the Nigerian Army's acting director Public relations, Col. Sani Usman, states that one officer and 8 soldiers were injured during the attack.

Weapons recovered from the sect members include 1 General Purpose Machine Gun, 2 Rocket Propelled Grenades, 9 AK-47 rifles and Belted rounds of 7.62 (NATO) ammunitions.
