Lagos State Police Command has arrested three alleged cultists suspected to be  terrorising Lagos Island and environs.

The raid  led to the arrest of the suspects identified as: Adebayo Dipo, 30; Alade Ogbulu, 30; and Kofi Olumide.
The  police also recovered from the suspects  a pump action rifle with serial number P. 960667, one single barrel rifle, four rounds of cartridges, two cutlasses and one battle axe.
Parading the suspects,  Aderanti said the suspects confessed to be members of Abija group specialised in terrorising residents on the Island.
Suspect’s account
“I belong  to the Abija  group. If we count those who have been killed, they are about six. On that day when the PDP held their rally at the TBS, we shot dead one person. That was also the day former President  Jonathan came to Lagos. After the rally, some of our boys shot dead Otun who brought his boys to engage us in a fight. It was one Layi, our gang member, who shot him.  The following day, the APC faction came to Enuwa area to engage us in a reprisal attack; we also killed four of their members”, Olumede stated.
“We worked for the PDP. We are loyal to Abija. It was Abija who brought all these guns. Abija had so many boys- too plenty to count. I was a meat pie seller before I joined the group in Lagos Island.”
But Dipo, who hails from Irewole Local Government Area of Osun  State, denied that the gang killed five persons after the rally. He said, “It was only Ashake that we killed. The others died during a fight with our gang. Nobody shot at them.
